Neil Cuthbert has over 20 years of public policy experience working in the government, private and third sectors. After five years in the civil services Neil joined the Food & Drink Federation representing the interests of member companies to regulators in the UK and Europe. Following this Neil moved to a policy role with an educational charity representing the interests of Further Education Colleges in Scotland. In 2011 Neil was appointed as Associate Director with a leading independent Scottish public affairs agency. His work there focused on the commercial property development, renewable energy and leisure and tourism sectors.
Neil is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) with Accredited Practitioner status and is an Individual Member of the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA). Neil is a member of the CIPR Scotland Public Affairs Sub-Group.
Neil’s spare time is spent with his family of two young daughters and (occasional) visits to the Scottish mountains for hill walking and skiing.
Ben McLeish is a Chartered Accountant (fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), who as a Director of 22Ten Business Advisor’s offers a range of Finance Director and Financial Policy services to clients. These include taking on Interim Finance Director roles, financial policy analysis and strategic business reviews.
Ben’s work experience has been across the public and private sectors. He specialises in tertiary education, early years education, public finance, and accounting outsourcing. Ben was Assistant Principal for Finance and Resources at Edinburgh’s Telford College from 2002 until 2010. Following a spell as Director of Policy and Communications at Scotland’s Colleges, Ben left to set up his own consultancy in 2011.
Away from work Ben is a member of The Portobello Community Council, enjoys playing tennis and watching football (he is a season ticket holder at Hibs) and has recently taken up running.
David Lee worked in newspapers for 20 years and was Senior Assistant Editor of The Scotsman when he left to set up his own company in 2009. As Director of David Lee Media & Events Ltd, he offers a range of communications services, including event hosting and organisation, writing, editing and media relations. He has worked across the public and private sector and specialises in legal affairs, education, environment and general public policy. With Susan Dalgety, he has organised more than 30 events under The Scotsman Conferences banner, including the acclaimed series, A Question of Independence.
Away from work, he has four children and two dogs and enjoys playing and watching football, coastal rowing and cinema.Connect with:
Paula’s extensive knowledge, developed over 20 years supporting organisations in her various roles as Office Manager, Executive Assistant and Account Manager, ensures our office operates efficiently. Her strong focus on client satisfaction and problem solving skills were honed from working in various branches of the private and public sector. Her most recent role was supporting the Principal and Senior Management team at Edinburgh College.
Outside the office, Paula is project managing the final phase of modernising her home in East Lothian and when the dust gets too much she enjoys escaping in the pages of a book with a mug of tea close at hand.
